About us

Whether you’re here to develop marksmanship fundamentals, refine competition skills, or simply enjoy a focused hobby, we’ve got you covered.

Our club is open to the whole community to encourage participation in various target shooting disciplines suitable for almost all ages and abilities. We’re supported by dozens of volunteers who give up hundreds of hours of their spare time each month in the name of sport and the community.

WDRPC offers its members indoor and full-bore outdoor shooting on MoD ranges several times a month for those who want to shoot larger calibre rifles like .223/5.56, 3.08/7.62 up to the likes of .577.

Our facilities

Our clubhouse includes multiple indoor lanes with electronic/robust backstops, a comfortable club room, and equipment storage. We run coached sessions, induction classes, and supervised practice throughout the week. Members also take part in organised outdoor shoots on longer-distance ranges when scheduled.

Safety first

Safety is the foundation of everything we do. All new members complete a structured induction covering range rules, safe handling, and basic technique before progressing to independent shooting under Range Officer supervision. We maintain rigorous procedures in line with UK law, our approval conditions, and national governing-body guidance.

Coaching & progression

New shooters benefit from patient, one-to-one guidance and clear training pathways. More experienced members can access discipline-specific coaching, competitions, and personal best tracking. If you’re curious about reloading, black powder, or moving into competition, we’ll help you take the next step.

How to join

Joining starts with an application and an induction session. After that, you’ll complete a probationary period with a set number of supervised visits to demonstrate safe, competent shooting. Once approved, you’ll have full member access and the option to explore additional disciplines and events.

Governance & affiliations

We operate as a not-for-profit club, run by elected officers and volunteer Range Officers. We align our practices with national bodies and UK legislation, and we uphold high standards for conduct, safety, and safeguarding at all times.
